Next Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and my company is gracious enough to honor that holiday. I'm actually not being snarky when I write that. The last company I worked for only honored 6 holidays, and because we closed our books on the 5th of every month, I usually ended up working at least one of those holidays (Independence Day) every year. So, I really am grateful for the holidays I do have.
I'm thinking of doing 2 things on MLK Day: visiting the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (or, as Al Roker called it, "the Slavery Museum" -- way to go, Al); and going to the Omnimax for the Hurricane on the Bayou show. I was a little torn about going to see the show, for a lot of different reasons, but I've decided that I'm going to go.
If you'd like to join me for either of these activities, I'd love some company!
