dear lady shopping at biggs today.
when your kid comes careening around the corner pushing a kiddie cart at breakneck speed and almost takes out a couple of adult shoppers, don't tell her "Say 'Watch out!'". Tell her "Say 'Excuse me.'" Better yet, tell her to stop running around like a maniac in the store. Because next time, I'll tell her. And no one wants that. No one.

Project Raising America's Children Rule #1: When parent's give their kids stupid advice, correct them. Otherwise we will have to be raising America's adults. Which will probably go over even better.
ReplyDeleteKind of like the small child who was hopping from square to square on the tiles in the local Walgreens, made eye contact, and then proceeded to hop directly in front of me, nearly landing on my toes. When I looked to Mom, hoping for some kind of apology or warning to the child, all I got was this disinterested, "what?" look. Funny, my parents never would have let me do that sort of thing. Is wrong to want to string a small child up by their arms . . . only the misbehaving ones . . . please?
ReplyDeletei just can't get it out of my head that the mom said: SAY WATCH OUT. Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!
