i'd like to schedule a sinectomy please

rather than a photo of me, sick on the couch, i decided to include my favorite sickie drink - sunny d. i love it!!

but i don't love being sick. for some reason, i've fallen into this cycle of sinus infections and i can't seem to prevent them. i do have a neti pot, and i use it semi-regularly. i started using a humidifier in the winter, but don't need one in the summer. am i missing some vital nutrient or is there possibly a sinus supplement out there? if you have a tip, please let me know in comments. BTW, last time i mentioned some thing like this in comments, darrell hooked me up w/ the 411 and heidi actually hooked me up with the goods - ligonberry juice!! thanxxx to both of you for that!

  1. Our preacher recently had a surgery where they stripped his sinuses clean because he was getting SO many infections- I hear its very painful but that it does the job. Not sure you're quite there yet, though

  2. My wife is in the same situation - they're going to do an alergy scratch test to see if they can identify what's triggering these infection. But first, they're actually going to do a procedure to held open things - she's not exactly looking forward to it, but the doc said it would probably mean she stops getting infections three to five times a year. The thing they're doing for her involves using a ho needle to actually inlarge her sinuses so things don't stay there and trigger an infection. It's going to be a whole lot of no fun, but as she said, being incredably sick so often isn't real fun either. This is the lesser of two evils.

  3. I'm prone to sinus episodes. Never infections, mind you. Just episodes. I've been allergy tested, and nothing came up. As the doctor told me "You're just one of those people who is prone to sinus episodes."

She recommended Claritin D for days when I'm not having an episode (to help stave them off), and Mucinex D for days when I am having an episode (to help control them).

    Maybe that will help.
