Good Read
While I was up in Urbana this week, I ot to spend a good amount of time with Cathy, and as many of my conversations do, a few of ours came around to discussions of the mini farm (black squirrels, the Blackford name, what kind of work Manus will do on the farm - those kinds of things). And during these conversations, Cathy would giggle and say that she could hardly wait to give me my birthday present. And then at one point, she just jumped up from the sofa and said, "I'm just going to give it to you now", and came back with this gem - Storey's _Barnyard in your Backyard_, which I am now very excited to read. I think one of the very best things about my mini-farm is that my friends and family are so supportive and interested in my dream. It's going to be so great.

HAAAAAAAA!! "Manus"...that's waaaay better than "Stuart."
ReplyDeleteFreudian slip? I don't think so. There's your man around the house.
hopefully your mini-farm of animals will be more successful than my mini-farm of crops!
ReplyDeletealso, it might be tacky to comment on one's own blog, but I just noticed that the word my thumb is covering up is "geese" - which is a happy accident, because I hate geese. There will be no geese on the mini-farm.
ReplyDeletefor the record CNK, my "g" sticks, so there.
