Ahhhh...relief

Well, I made it in, right at the deadline last night. And let me tell you, there were a few tense moments where I thought I wasn’t going to. I have to say that Tax Day is yet another day where I appreciate the fact that I am single. Single filers never have to consult with their sig-o, and there was no one there to yell at me for putting things off until the bitter end. Except Stella, who actually did start yelling at me at one point. I never know what she means when she does that.
Now that my taxes are done, I will be RICH when I get my return. However, soon after that, I will be POOR again, because I think it’s time for a new roof. So, bye-bye, tax refund. I’ve spent you before I even knew you. Oh, and one of my ARMY boyz made a comment to me about how you always have “your home equity line of credit” to tap into. Am I the only homeowner who doesn’t have one of those set up? It always seemed dangerous to me, as in, inviting me to spend money I shouldn’t on improvements I don’t really need. Fellow homeowners, what say ye?
In other good news, the ARMY boyz returned their signed lease last night, so it’s official that I have them for another entire year. YAY!

  1. 1. even if you are married, that does not mean you consult with one another about taxes. In fact, I was "tax girl" this year and the only consultation I got was the question: "did we get our taxes turned in?"
    2. nope! no line of home equity credit here. too scary for us, as well!

  2. E - we don't have a home equity line of credit either. It's anti-Dave Ramsey. ;-)

Feelin' your pain on the already-spent-tax-return. We're using our fat return to get a new driveway. BORING! but necessary.

  3. Yeah I'm not a homeowner but isn't "home equity line of credit" a nice way of saying "second mortgage"? Which I have always understood to be a bad bad thing.
